The word „interurban” actually means a connection, both in the physical sense of the railway network, and also in terms of transmission between telephone lines. This is a perfect symbol that characterizes the music of Interurban, where you can see movement on two levels in the contrast of the electronic music environment and folk music-inspired female vocals, which tell a story in every song.
The lyrics of the folk songs rooted in the past, which are still relevant today merge with the surrounding drum&bass musical environment in such a way that a futuristic experience is born from this connection, which is enhanced even more by the video clips made for the songs.
Interurban founded in 2021 is an electronic music formation in which the mixing of drum&bass, big beat and industrial styles come true by transforming everyday noises into electronic sounds, and not by the way, the Hungarian folk song, supplemented with its own lyrics, sits on top of this sometimes dissonant soundscape 21th century adaptation.
The goal is to break electronic music out of the usual patterns by showing that traditional folk songs or folk instruments can also be modern and exciting if they meet the expectations of today's sound world.
We call this: Save as
The electronic band line-up covers two people, music producer Imre Makkay and singer Márti Muzsnyai, as well as the distinct section in which the styles of both of them prevail equally.
LYRICS
Mountains
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Setting off to leave my country
Famous, little Hungary
Looking back for one last goodbye
Tears of sadness fill my eyes.
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Pain and sorrow are my supper
Sadness fills my every hour
Staring at the sky at night
Crying in the lonely starlight
Lord, oh help me, give me shelter
Hiding I can bear no longer
Living far away from home
Crying bitter tears on my own
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
Mountains falling on me
